Check Out All The Excavator Models
Excavators are heavy duty vehicles which are used in many activities. Most of the time excavators are used in engineering activities. Basic excavator models have a bucket like structure to excavate the material which is suspended from a boom with the help of strong wire ropes. In addition to this, the excavator has a lower jaw as another part. Other additional fittings are also available based on the special usage an excavator model is used for.
All excavator models can be owned and operated only if a valid license is possessed for that particular model. License holding also has rules and regulations that need to be followed. Permission to handle waste materials and its segregation into hazardous and non-hazardous material has to be obtained. After separation they have to be treated accordingly. Training has to be conducted for those operating on excavators. They should know how to operate the excavator safely, keeping in mind all the statutory laws and regulations.
The operators need to be well informed about the emergency action plan. If he does not know how to act in an emergency situation, there are a lot of chances of damage either to himself or to the excavator. A copy of the license has to be kept in the worksite and should be referred to as and when necessary. All operators who are eligible to handle a particular model need to be fully aware of the contents and limitations of the license.
Different excavator models are designed to fulfill different purposes. The extra fittings will change according to the model and according to the usage. Caterpillar is a leading company in the production of excavators all over the world and there are also various players in the industry. Some companies specialize only in certain excavator models and not in all. A separate training should be taken by operators for each model and its special usage. Dragline excavators and compact excavators are the common excavator models available. Whatever maybe the excavator models we are talking about, there is one common thread that binds the operators of all these models. Safety should be the focal point of all their work. There are safety and security regulations that are in place, irrespective of the field or the industry. The rules might vary a bit, but the spirit is the same whether you are working in the forestry, mining, agricultural or construction industry. If these rules are not followed by licensed operators, there is a very high chance of accidents taking place. Very often, these accidents might prove to be fatal. What is really frightening is the fact that there could be fatalities in the area in which an excavator is in operation. For instance, if there is an untrained operator, there is every possibility that he might not be aware of the rules to be followed while moving the arm or the bucket, thereby causing grievous injury to people standing in the area of operation.
